I bought this for my daughter because she is into digital editing and drawing. She uses Adobe CS4 and noted the only thing she did not like was there was no pen pressure. You also have to download a patch if you use an AMD computer. However, the ability to write, or draw, on regular paper and then plug it in and transfer all the material to the computer is very cool and seems to work great. The software is not the best, but hey, it does work. There is a slight lag between when you drag the pen and when it registers, but it is true to position and otherwise accurate. All in all, a very good product; especially for the price.

My tablet was defective. The tablet does not turn on despite recharging the batteries or putting in brand new batteries. After looking at this product (probably best for taking notes), I returned it and purchased a Wacos tablet for a laptop more suitable for drawing & artwork. This looks like a nice product (tablet for taking notes) recharging batteries, save on SDHD card, etc, but it just didn't work for me for what I really needed.
no problems here

After reading several of the negative reviews, I was compelled to write one of my own. I have had no issues with this product. I use it with two different Vista 64bit machines, and have yet to have one issue. While the pen is larger in diameter than I would like, it still functions just as I expect it to. Two or three of the bundled programs are incompatible with Vista 64bit, but I have yet to miss them. After training with the handwriting conversion software even my most hurried notes are captured and converted with little correction on the back end. I've even used it with Adobe PS and it beats using a mouse for re-touching hands down. This product has been used every day for several months now with no problems.

I recently bought the pad and I must say it's pretty sweet. I was a little thrown off at first, having received no spare tips, but turns out there's a little compartment built right into the pad.
It's really easy to use and organize and the data is quickly transferred into the internal memory and is accessible via any computer via USB.
It's a pretty cool peice of tech and if that's not reason enough to get it, just think of all the times you've seen Kirk receive a report on the bridge of the Enterprise and of all the times you wanted to have that pad. Well this is it.
Enjoy
Works great for me...only one negative point

It didn't have the extra tips/pens it should, but I love using it as a graphics pad for editing photos and creating mindmaps, design ideas and notes. For much of my design idea work I use it with OneNote (Microsoft) and LOVE IT! As a notepad, well it takes a bit of work. It didn't recognize my handwriting at all right out of the box. Using the MyScript Notes Basic Edition which shipped with it, I worked through the trainer and now it gets most of my writing and as it makes errors I correct them in the program so it keeps learning. It doesn't record sound or have video, as does the pen, but I also don't have to rely on a limited purchasing choice for proprietorial paper tablets. I can purchase regular ones, which reduces the long-term cost. I am still playing with and testing the other software that came bundled with it

This is truly by far the best investment I made for college. As a student, I get tired of typing on the computer and just want to write a quick not or search and write my notes. The best feature I like about this product is that it allows you to transfer your notes over to the computer. I haven't mastered all of the features as of yet but I'm working on that. VERY GOOD PRODUCT FOR SCHOOL OR BUSINESS!
Good, but I am hoping for improvements

This is a great tool, I really like the idea of it and have just begun to use it.
I will say my first unit had to be returned and they were great to deal with (BTW). that being said, the new unit works as expected. I would like to say that the support is very lite. Dont you hate it when there is no one available by phone. Well that is what happened with the Adesso people. I even sent an email trying to fix the first unit and no reply. Like I said, here they handled the replacement and I am now in business. I think they (Adesso) need some refinement on the software side, it works great as a stand alone note taker and thus having my hand written notes available in my OneNote is great. (But that connector software is an additional download)
I guess in my review is this, they have a great product here and I think if they make some improvements in their production, software design & tech support it can really could be great.

I saw a similar product in SkyMall magazine, where it was over $200. I decided to buy this one from CompUSA for my son who is in college, as a Xmas present. After reading some of the reviews, I was skeptical, and so was my wife. Nevertheless I bought it. When we tried it, I have to say I was very very impressed. Not only it captured extremely well whatever we wrote on the paper pad, but the software which converts handwriting to typed text was truly amazing. My son wrote down complicated legal sentences, and the program converted it with amazing accuracy. You have to however specify in the program whether you want to convert words written with capital letters or cursive handwriting. My son really likes it, and has already mastered its use. One more thing. It comes with the conversion software, which on Skymall was an extra $50. I would definitely recommend for college students, lawyers etc.

Not well supported. Originally I thought this was great. The literature that came with it promises all sorts of wonderful functionality and tools. My first disappointment was with the instruction documentation - it was poorly written (bad English) and missing several key explanations. It says it's compatible with any software that has a TWAIN interface, but it is not. It works for some, but most notibly, not with Microsoft Document Imaging. Although the included software is recognized as a TWAIN device, it complains about a compatibility problem. When I called Adesso customer support, they said they didn't support the TWAIN interface. When I asked about upgrading the bundled 'My Script Notes Basic Edition' to the Regular edition, they said their experience was the Cyberpad doesn't work with the regular edition, but they don't support it (because it wasn't bundled) so they wouldn't know. I was advised that I could purchase the regular version at my own risk. They hung up on me.

As advertised. Works great; east to use. It takes some getting used to in tablet mode (size of stylus, screen placement, etc., but that is no real fault of the manufacturer). You can buy a different stylus too, but must use the included one for the notes capture feature. A very nice product and a super deal at Tiger Direct!
