Perfect for not disturbing the house with movies
Don't have a spare $300 for the headphones you really want? These work great for keeping the noise down at night when you have a movie or music going. Having battery access is key. The only complaint is that the earphones don't enclose the outer ear, but that doesn't effect the performance too much.

Great for Hard of Hearing better then tv ears
I bought this after reading the reviews from people that were hard of hearing. I've had TV ears in the past and they worked OK but were pretty expensive to replace. I got these refurbished and on sale for $30 compared to $200 for TV ears. These work great as long as you sit in front of the sending unit, if you get up or something blocks the signal you get static. Not a big deal as when I watch TV I sit and watch if I get up I pause it. I think these are better then tv ears I hear things now I never heard before with or with out tv ears, things are much clearer and making watching tv a better experience. One thing that I do note tho is that sometimes they cut out I mean the signa;l box shuts off for no appparent reason. I found that if I turned the Vol up a little it would come back on. Not a deal breaker as it doesnt happen that often . I would buy these again.

not what you want
The sysem worked for about 60 seconds and then went dead. Tried to contact able planet, got no resonse.

I watch alot of tv
I stay up late and my man wants me to turn the tv off. It's a problem. My hearing is about half, I have trouble hearing the tv on low volume. It was a problem before I bought my Able Planet's. Great sound at a low volume, Keeps everyone happy.

Stay close to your TV
Use headphones for watching TV since I have hearing problems. The sound quality if great for someone like me, easy to hear the words and understand what is being said. But could not believe the short range on these headphones! First, you need to be in a direct line of sight to the transmitter. Then if you move more that 10 ft. away, all sound is lost. Should have read the other reviews before I bought but it was on sale and I got a rebate so not much lost. Pity the folks who paid full pop for these, might as well be wired.
