i have installed this on 3 laptops even a dell xps 9100 works great you just have to download new drivers from Logitech website |

I have been the owner of this webcam for about two weeks now and I am impressed with the video quality of the product. I've had the Logitech QuickCam Communicate STX for quite some time and I can tell that there is huge difference in terms of quality and features between the two. What you pay is what you get. I am not happy with the software that came with it though. After smooth software and driver installation my audio started to sound distorted (scratchy). It took me two days to figure out that echo cancellation feature for built-in microphone does not work properly. It should be disabled until fix is released with the future software version according to Logitech web site. Now I can use it without any problems for my Skype conversations. While solving my problem I was able to find many comments where people are complaining about the software so beware. Right Light feature tends to set video a bit too dark for my taste so I use manual setup for gain and exposure. |

This is one of the best web cam I've owned. The only problem I had was with the sound, it conflected with my sound card. I turned off the echo & feedback crap in the sound/speeker setup and everything worked find. Low light, mic, sound, and focus at 1.3mp = GREAT |

I read a review somewhere that said PTZ control of the camera wasn't possible, but that isn't true. In fact there are third party solutions that allow remote control.
Unfortunately, my computer randomly rebooted with this camera installed (usually when I tried to access the driver). I tried the latest driver and DirectX software with no luck. I also didn't find the PTZ controls to be smooth.
If it installs without problem for you, it might be a good camera, but it seems not everyone is having good luck getting it to play well with others.
Also worth mentioning that the low-light quality is very good - other webcams can hardly see when this one could still see very well, though the fixed focus didn't yeild very sharp images. |

I own a Dell Dimension 9100 which I thought of fitting with one of the ''would be'' best webcam on the market, at least I thought so. So I purchased a Logitech Quickcam Orbit MP which I installed according to the instructions just to find out that the webcam driver would conflict so severely to the point of not being able to reboot. The computer freezes right at startup, where I can't access any configuration or remove the newly installed driver. At this point my only thing left to do is to clean completelly the hard disk and reintstall Windows, that is loosing all my important data, some of which was not yet backed-up, and reinstalling all the softwares currently residing on my hard disk. If you don't want to go through I have to go and loose your files and software, DON'T BUY THIS WEBCAM!!! I READ MANY REVIEWS SOME OF WHICH WERE TALKING ABOUT THIS EXACT EXPERIENCE, AND WHICH I REFUSED TO BELIEVE. BEWARE!!! |

Got this camera to set up a webcam for a swim meet. It worked great both for daytime and nighttime. I loved the mechanized pan and tilt. |

It's a good choice. My son and I purchased an Orbit MP and found them easy to set up if you carefully follow the instructions on the provided disc. It tracks well and is easy to manipulate. Low light is no problem, but any bright back light blinds the camera. The problem is not with the Logitech equipment, it's with the low quality audio and video useing Skype or Windows Live Messenger. We've found it works better to use the video but converse over the cell phone for free, as we're on the same calling plan. Given all the shortcomings, it still is wonderfull to see him when we chat, and soon we'll be able to see our new grandson daily, even across the country. So, it was a great purchase, limited only by the transmition service. |

Awesome - even good in the dark (considering..) You won't be disappointed (but make sure your machine is up to it if you want to play with the ''toys'' - CPU intensive |
