I was quite surprised that HP would produce such a dim monitor. Even in a normally lit room it is difficult to see details. And yes, I have increased the brightness controls to the max setting as well as fooled around with the contrast. While I may have brightness issues, I suspect that if used in a slightly darkened environment it may work just fine for you. |

This was my very first personal flat panel LCD. It works very well. No problems what-so-ever. I do wish that the monitor had a better resolution/MHZ compatability. I used a different monitor on my other computer, but it wasn't as bright or as sharp or as clear as i wanted. |

Very compact, even for a 15'' LCD the footprint is small. Well built and solid. One dead pixle but not bad considering the price, I have several other ''high end'' LCD displays with dead pixles right out of the box. The image is clear, colors true and the monitor is quite bright despite the specs. I have it in a well lit (sunlight) room and I've rolled the brightness back to 80%. I can't comment on how it would be for gaming with a 16ms response time but I did play a home movie on it and saw no sign of ghosting, just the usual blur on fast panning, very similar to what I see on my 2ms Viewsonic LCD. Last, a three year warranty is as good as it gets!
I've never been let down by HP or Tigerdirect. Very happy with my purchase.

I bought the monitor to give more space on the kids desk. It came exactly as represented and in perfect comdition. The monito has a great picture and plays the kids' games very well. |

Great value. Excellent clarity for the price, and well made. No dead pixels. If you're looking for an inexpensive LCD monitor that meets the basic needs of home computing and them some this is an excellent buy. |

First of all It was packaged extremely well.
Nothing was going to scratch the screen.I have so much more room on my desk that i can add nic nacks.The clearity of the screen is awesome.It was worth the money. |
