This unit did not work at all for me. The software supplied with the unit was not compatible with Windows 7. The Linksys web site did not provide any updated software. I addition, I found a printer compatibility list on the web site and found that my printer was not compatible. I returned the print server and bought a new printer with network compatibility.
if you have the correct printer, it's fantastic.

Until I bought this print server, I had to depend on another PC running on the network to be able to print anything, now it doesn't matter,we all can print at any time.

Woud not recommend to ayone. Could not get the print server to work. So called Linksys customer support and spent close to 6 hours on the phone and still could not get it to work. The tech support people should be able to tell you that it isn't going to work with Vista.

Have the Linksys PSUS-4 refurbished model, but want to give some info because these can be tricky to get working - but are great once they are!
First, my print server unit is configured as a Lanman Workstation. If you have 'Enable LMHOSTS Lookup' unchecked in network card properties, will never find the unit. Also, is seen as a 'Printserver SMB printer', so may need to adjust firewall settings to permit some of NetBios SMB protocals.
I used a static IP address instead of DHCP, that way I can always try to ping to test.
Sequence of installing software is important. First, had to install PSUS-4 drivers on a computer that was previously connected to printer (thus had printer drivers already on it). Then had to run 'User Install' option on Linksys CD to link PSUS-4 drivers with printer drivers. On other clients, installed the printer drivers first, then ran 'User Install' option again from Linksys CD.
Mine actually shows up on the network with it's 'hostname' as the 'Unit ID' on the

This is a great print server. I have had two for several years, one connected to a color laser. Looks like an electrical storm took them out last week, and will probably buy another. Vista will print to it fine - I have two Vista machines printing to it. You have to create a TCP/IP port and select ''LPR Port'' with a queue name of ''P1''. Found info on Linksys' web site.

Warning: I purchased this on the reviews, but you should phone LinkSys first prior to purchasing the product. Although Linksys does not indicate this on their website, this print server is not compatible with all printers. The only way you will find out is contacting them prior to purchase.

Do not by this product! You cannot use this with Vista machines. I have two PC's connected through a Linksys router, connected the PSUS4 exactly the way the tech support and instructions say and absolutely cannot get both machines to print through this printer server. Constantly have to unplug it to get one PC just to print through it. I am surprised Linksys would make a product this bad! Linksys tech support has been useless as they claim because they don't have Vista drivers out yet, they can't help. Unbelievable! It's going back to Tiger Direct.
