Convenient combo of kb and touchpad

I use this keyboard for my media center attached to my HDTV. The touchpad makes if convenient for controlling all the futures of any windows application, althought it may not be very confortable for typing long documents. I went for the wired version since my livingroom is very small, so the keyboard sits at the coffee table close to the TV most of the time. I guess the bluetooth version would work perfectly for those looking for freedom of movement around the room. Quality is average because is all plastic, but it is solid and has a 'real' keyboard feel. The location of some keys is odd and takes time to get used to, but not too different to getting used to the keyboard of a new laptop. It takes some playing around with the touchpad settings in Control Panel to get a smooth feeling, I think it is not as responsive as touchpads on laptops, but works great for everyday use that do not require extreme accuracy with th cursor pointer.

5* for quality.. as far as keyboards go, it is quite acceptable. Everything else gets a 4 because while it is pretty good, it could be improved. Some of the keys are in funky spots, like the is between the space bar and alt key, and there are two windows keys instead of a right ctrl.. and all keys in the thumb row are like 1/3 width which makes hot-keying in my tiling window manager error-prone when moving quickly. I think the ins/del keys, while they seem to be in a good position on paper, are not in practice. It is a bit larger than my 10'' vaio which does not have these issues.. in fact, it has the best keyboard I've ever used and I wish I could find one like it for my desktop! All that aside, if I get over the mod-key issue, I may get a wireless one of my primary desktop.. touch-screen is pretty good, and compared to that little Adesso thing I tried out it is perfect (the Adesso's feel like you got them @ a coin-op claw machine!).

We use these for our kiosk hardware and they work great. No moving parts to break, the trackpad functions very well. We've used these dozens of times (maybe 50). Compact yet not too small for big hands like mine.
