Great hard drive for the money. Very easy to install and format. I also installed it as an external with the Sony Vaio which has its own fan but it is still pretty quiet.

This Drive is the best one I have ever bought. It's really fast, and it is very easily installed into an external drive case. It fits the 3.5' cases. This drive was able to copy 65gigs in about 35 minutes over firewire 400. Really Great!

Hard drive works like a charm. the problem is with seagate's ''rebate.'' Don't be fooled!! You will NOT receive $50.00 back - you will ONLY receive a $10.00 rebate check back. Enough to turn my stomach and say ''no more'' to Seagate. There are plenty of quality hard drives out there. Maxtor stands by its rebate program. Use them.

Great drive, great value. Pretty quiet too. I am using it with an external enclosure (without fan) and I can hardly hear it. I've got three Barracudas, two internal and this one and they all work great.

This is a great hard drive with more memory than you will ever need. I love it and I recomend that you pick one up with the rebate.
