This is about as much CPU muscle you can get for 599. Chews through all my h264 encodes easily. Highly recommended for those looking 6 cores way.

power of the x series at half the price
games will only use 2 of it's 12 threads if you're building a game rig buy an i5 that being said this cpu is a beast and can handle anything you can throw at it just keep it cool and you can overclock to your hearts desire i hear complaints about the price but i think it's a screaming deal it performs almost the same as 3960x (-3 megs cache 12 is still enough though)

Built a Computer for My Wife
Plenty of headroom for overclocking. It is fast and we have not even pushed the envelope. Bring up Task Manager and look at performance. It looks like 12 Cores!
