Like all Pelican™ Protector Equipment Cases, the new #1490 Computer Case
is watertight, dust proof, crush proof, and corrosion proof. The #1490 Case
is molded of advanced ultra high impact copolymer resin, protects valuable laptop
computers from handling abuse and all weather conditions. The deluxe model (1490CC1)
includes a padded lid organizer and shock absorbing tray, lock down velcro safety
strap, removable padded shoulder strap, keyed locking latches, atmospheric purge
valve, o-ring seal and padded fold down handle.

I bought this case in June '06 for a new MacBook Pro. It fits very nicely if you leave two rows of the ''side fill'' foam (included) along the hinge edge of the case. With that in place the 15'' MBP fits perfectly. There's a layer of pick-and-pack at the base of the rubber tray which I picked out a section for the power supply. The MBP sits on top of it. I ride a motorcycle to and from work every day and I just bungie this case to the sissy bar. It's now December and I haven't had any problems, no marks on the computer, the case doesn't squeeze the lid to tight so no keyboard marks on the screen. I'm very pleased with the case. It is relatively heavy so I replaced the shoulder strap with a padded suede strap from a PortaBrace camera case and it's much more comfortable than the one that comes with it.
