Logitech Harmony 880
Advanced Universal Remote
The Harmony 880 Advanced Universal Remote puts you in control of your entire audio-video system with just one button. It´s home entertainment the way it should be—simple.
Optimized for complicated HDTV and PVR systems, the Harmony 880 helps you tame tough configurations like switching your television between video aspect ratios depending on the program source. The interactive color display lets you quickly choose a 16:9 ratio for movies and HDTV, or a standard 4:3 ratio for basic television programming.
High-end systems deserve a high-end remote. Designed with brushed chrome and charcoal accents, a color LCD display and a low-profile recharging station, the Harmony 880 Remote will match your most advanced audio-video components perfectly.
Logitech has won a total of eight Industrial Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) in the past two years, including five of Japan´s prestigious 2004 Good Design Awards. This experience helped us design the Harmony 880. Featuring a comfort grip shape and a centered directional pad, it fits easily in your hand and naturally guides you to the most frequently used controls. Even the buttons are sculpted, to help you locate them by feel not sight.
Smart State Technology allows the Harmony remote to completely control an entertainment system by knowing how to control each separate component while tracking the current state of up to 15 devices simultaneously.

Great Product
The first remote that shipped to me had either a bad battery or bad charger, so I had to get a replacement. This remote is working great! It controls my TV, Blu-Ray player, DVD recorder, home theatre receiver, and my cable company DVR. The online setup took only 10 minutes. There were 2 buttons on my DVR that did not set up automatically, the the

Perfect remote. Battery impossible to replace
We've had our 880 for 6 years. Perfect remote until the battery got too weak to keep a charge. Also, if you have young children that drop the remote on the floor often, the battery door will break. Any small amount of tape used to put the door back in place will shift the remote when it's in its cradle just enough so it will never make contact to recharge. The fit in the cradle has to be 100% perfect. Aside from all that, it's a perfect remote!

Solves it!
My wife has been voicing her frustrations with having to keep track of 6 remotes with 4 kids running around as well as the confusion and frustration that comes with remembering which to use for what and when... This remote is WELL WORTH the investment! Now I hear about how great it is, how easy it is, and how happy she is that the batteries won't need replacing! Thanks!

Great features, but hardware wears out
I've had my 880 almost 4 years and am now buying a new one to replace it. Easily handles all my components: TV, HD Tuner, Blu-ray player, VCR, Receiver, CD Player...over time, my components have changed, but they have all worked with the 880. Here are the problems: 1) After about 1 yr, the volume up stopped working. Had to reprogram different buttons to handle volume, which is not a big deal. 2) After about 18 months to 2 years, it stopped charging properly. Had to wiggle it in the cradle to get it to charge, or prop up one end. 3) After almost 3 years, battery died. Original battery had expanded and looked like it was about ready to explode. Replaced battery. 4) After almost 4 years, remote died. Screen comes in and out, but the unit does not do anything. All that said, 4 years is a fairly long time to own a product, and I am willing to buy another. I am keeping the old one for spare parts just in case.
