Excellent Drive for the price
The hard drive is super quiet,fast and easy to install. I use this drive for storage and an SSD for the windows 8 64bit pro as a boot drive. Make sure your OS is able to recognize 3TB in MBR format.

worst drive
i have this drive form last year dec., since my PSU broken i took out drive left there for 2 days when i get new PSU i put it on, it make beep sound, that is mean this Hard drive die what a shame. only 3 or 4 months not even put a data in there.

Works like a charm and tons of storage to boot.
I purchased this drive to replace one that was about to fail. I made the precautionary backup of the failing drive's files, removed it, replaced it with this drive. Restored the backup files and now my system works as though I never had a problem in the first place.

ST3000DM001 rocks!
This is my third drive purchase for my Synology 1512+ NAS. Drives are great, run cool, no issues at all. I'll be buying two more so that there will be five 3TB drives working together!
