Samsung announces the advent of audio/videophile-quality DVD entertainment with its next-generation of upconversion DVD players: the DVD-HD841. The refurbished Samsum DVD-HD841 that I purchased
from TD is very satisfactory. I have played 6 movies on it and the player did not freeze or stutter. Using the DVI output to an Optoma projector DVI input with 1080I selected is very good. |

Pros: great upconversion, better than my HDTV's native, and better than newer model Samsung HD850.
Cons: stopped working on second day. Froze during dvd play and now refuses to recognize any dvd disk, although it will play an audio cd disk. I upgraded the firmware from Samsung support, but the problem persists.
This is the first product I have to return to tigerdirect, we'll see how that goes. |
