This unit does work with Vista. You can get the upgraded driver manually or automatically when you install the from the supplied CD.

I love this card. It performs with games and mp3 music, easy to use console that instals with the drivers. plus the motherboard in my machine has only 2 regular pci slots and 2 pci-e so it is just the solution for me. thanks

I got this because my motherboard's PCI slots are messed up and regular sound cards just don't work. I figured at the price, it was worth a try and Creative Labs was a trusted name for sound cards. Well, let me just say that I've been completely satisfied with it. It's worked perfectly from the second that I plugged it in. The software that comes with it allows you to enhance the sound quality, making it very good so long as you have good enough speakers/headphones. This definitely will cover your basic sound needs and it's hard to be disappointed by the sound quality produced. The only downside to a USB sound card is that the sound can lag at times. Since it has to go through USB and isn't directly connected to the motherboard, you may have some problems with sound played while performing CPU-intensive processes. Other than that, it's great.
