Amped Wireless AP600EX High Power Wireless-N 600mW Pro Access Point
The Amped Wireless High Power Wireless-N Pro Access Point adds extreme range, high speed Wireless-N access for existing wired networks. With a high power 600mW power amplifier and a high gain directional antenna, the Amped Wireless AP600EX High Power Wireless-N 600mW Pro Access Point is capable of providing up to 1.5 miles of wireless coverage. The Pro Access Point features a weatherproof outdoor/indoor enclosure with desktop, wall and pole mounting options. True Plug and Play set up, makes setup as simple as connecting the AP600EX to your router's network port. The Amped Wireless AP600EX High Power Wireless-N 600mW Pro Access Point is great for providing long range wireless coverage for large indoor/outdoor areas or building to building applications.
Note: to achieve distances of 1.5 miles it is necessary to use Amped Wireless Pro Series products together with line of sight (SR600EX, AP600EX or UA600EX)

Fail
I bought this unit to network my site, consisting of several outdoor buildings on a square, 5 acre site. My connection and router are in a building only 300 feet from where I placed the SR600EX repeater. The access point and repeater were in a perfect line of site. I never got more than 60% signal strength and they failed to connect. I called Amped for support who escalated my call and suggested I return the access point as it wasn't working correctly. I did, and it still failed. They then told me it must be the repeater that's bad and to return it. Support stopped returning my calls after another escalation.

Bad Unit
I wanted to replace my cheepo aging belkin wireless g that connects my house to an out building about 300 feet away. I get no signal at all at this distance from this unit while the belkin gives 65%. Severely disappointed in every way... it will soon be winging its back to this company or to the dump.

Great Professional Access Point
I'm using this with their SR600EX and it works great. able to get connection up to 1 mile with 30Mbps down still. very very good. Highly recommend that these are used in a pair however either with the UA600EX or SR600EX since thats the best way to parlay the performance and get the very long range connections like mine. awesome
