Adequate device; it does the job in most cases. One of the fragile tabs on the battery cover broke and now it has scotch tape on it. It takes a single 2032 3v battery which is easy enought to find at the local grocery store. If it weren't for the Scotch tape needed to keep the battery cover from falling off, this device out rate higher.

It does what is says it will do. The battery cover is a problem though. Like another commenter, it did not take too long before the battery cover broke - it is now taped on - not too good looking but it works. I have used mine for a couple years - teaching ~ 40 days/year 8hr/day and have not yet needed to replace the battery. Range is at least 15 feet. As stated it does what is is intended to do - no flash or pizzaz. I'd buy another one but be prepared to fix the battery cover as it will break (a little clear packing tape is my choice).

I teach using Powerpoint and use this device daily in classrooms. No complaints. It can do its job from the back of the class - max range seems to be about 30-40 feet.
This doesn't run on AAA batteries, so be prepared to fork out a few bucks for battery replacement.
For someone who is not overly concerned about price, at a few bucks more it might be worth investing in a model with a laser pointer or a cursor control.

It seems to work fine when tested in my office, but when I went to the presentation room, it worked very erratically, and would respond only from 3 feet away. The coin battery is not a good idea, and the battery cover is so fragile and now it is broken after a drop.
