Works as advertised, good value
Hooked it up to 64-bit Windows 7 PC with the included fire-wire cable and it worked right out of the box. I have a huge archive of Hi-8 tapes shot 1993-2002 to digize and edit, and it does what I expected of it. I've had zero dropped frames with many hours of captures. Can't expect it to convert analog to HD, but the captures show very little generation loss from the originals. I got my money's worth and I'm pleased with it.

Great device
Great device, used a cheapo $20 cable before and no comparison. You definitely get what you pay for.

Love It!!!
I'm set up for fire wire so no power problems with me... Performs great!!! Works with Premier Pro, or any other video program that I have installed... A little pricy but you get what you pay for.

Works as it should - make sure you have power
This product worked exactly as it should. Triple the cost of the simpler adaptors, but no dropped frames. When you use the smaller firewire cord to adapt, you need a separate power cord which I got locally. Quality product.

Good Product
Works fine. Not professional quality, but what do you expect for $220. After all you are using an analog source you can't expect HD. No glitches. I needed to buy a firewire cable for mac, but the IE1994 worked for PC.

works great should include external power source
They should include the external 5v dc adapter,had to make my own.if you cant spell your name dont buy this

Worked Great!
The product worked exactly as I hoped it would. Using it in conjunction with 64-bit Windows 7, Nero 10, and a PCI-E FireWire card. Converting old VHS and 8MM home movies and quality is perfect. I see no degredation between what I see on my SD-TV versus what was recorded on my PC. Quality is also much better than some of the companies that do coversion for you (as long as you don't mind spending the time doing it yourself). Overall, completely satisfied!

Purchase this if you want seamless conversion.
It's like video conversion for dummies. You don't have to be an expert to use this piece of equipment. Video conversion is excellent and easy to do. I purchased another video card before this one and basically wasted 40 dollars as it never synced video with audio properly. I recommend you to spend now because you will save later (time, money, hassle). Package comes with a firewire cord but not power adapter.

It works as advertised
Easy to install. Easy to use. My computer would not support power on the fire wire cable. Had a problem locating a power source. It needs 5VDC and requires a type B RadioShack power connector.
