Way better than flat panel TV speakers
I bought this soundbar system because the sound from my flat panel TV was weak. The TV is mounted above the fireplace so I didn't want wires showing ex. power cord going to the soundbar. This was one of the main reasons I chose this Sony soundbar system. It also allow a one HDMI connection from included receiver to TV which I have an HDMI cable routed in wall. The sound is soo much better than the TV speakers so it accomplised my primary goal. There is still room for improvement though. The speaker cable from receiver to soundbar is not long enough to route through my wall without some slicing and dicing to extend it. Also, since the receiver has 3 HDMI inputs and 1 HDMI output to the TV, I would have expected some on screen on the TV screen that is interface. Sadly, this isn't the case and since the receiver is in a cabinet, I get to guess at the sound volume. I like the repeatability of setting the sound to a numerical sound level

Lasted 36 hours
I hooked it up painlessly. Wiring is simple with three HDMI inputs and one aggregate out to the TV. Easy. It looks nice. Sound is on par for the price. The sub performed well wirelessly. But after 36 hours, I go to turn the unit on, NOTHING. It is dead after 36 hours.
