This is a great cpu heatsink/fan. I was using a stock aluminum cpu fan for may AMD X2 3800 and my idle temp was 49C and load was 63C (too high). With this Ultra fan, my idle is now 32C and load is 43C. I like the fact I didn't have to take off motherboard to install. Uses existing brackets. |

This is an excellent heatsink/fan combo. Runs quiet for how powerful it is. My AMD 64 X2 3800+ has yet to rise above 30 degrees C. Blows air up into PSU fan instead of out the side panel. Good deal, but BE CAREFUL INSTALLING IT. You have to push the clamp really hard, so make sure you don't break anything. Once its on there, you won't have any problems. |

I got one of these many months back for my Athlon 64 3000+ (S754). It's quiet, keeps my CPU cool, and has never given me any problems at all. In fact, I just ordered an ABIT K8N SLi motherboard bundled with an Athlon 64 4000+ (S939) and got another one of these to go with it, since I plan on keeping the other heatsink with the 3000+ in the computer I'm putting that motherboard/CPU in. |

Far better than the stock AMD heatsink/fan.
I was running an Athlon64 X2 3800+ (2Ghz) at 2.4Ghz with the stock AMD HS/F and the CPU ran at 53-54C under full load.
With this cooler in place, I can run the same CPU at 2.6Ghz with temps only hitting 45C under full load.
Changing the clip from the socket A clip to the socket 939 clip was easy and installation was very simple. Many of the other high-end coolers require motherboard removal to install a new piece on the back. This one clips right onto the existing frame.
I found this in the ''clearance'' rack at Tiger near Sherway Gardens mall for $30.97, but even at $50, it is a great cooler. |
