These speakers has almost identical configuration as the JBL E90's. The JBL's costs 10 times as much. So the question here is, does the JBL's sound 10 times better? I bought a pair out of sheer curiosity.
Right off the bat, you will notice two things. The mid-high range drivers gives out an incredibly sweet and warm response. If you are into jazz, vocals or classical music, you will love them to death (bad news if you are into Ozzy). I think the 1'' dome tweeter is a masterpiece, alone worth the price of the speakers! Secondly, the dual 8'' woofers looks good on paper but lacks any real punch. Turn the Bass knob all the way and you'll hear some bass. Suffice to say, they are not terribly efficient units. Add a subwoofer and you will be very happy. Of course, quality and workmanship is nowhere near JBL standards and the E90 gives a lot better low end punch. 7.5 stars for the MCM if you don't look at the price. A solid 9 if the price is factored in!
