I've played around with other universal remotes and they always have some device or critical command that they won't support, they are always hard to program, etc. and I can tell you this thing is AWESOME. It's simple to program and controls everything with ease. I have a TV, DirecTV HD/DVR, PS2, VCR, Amp/Tuner, CD Jukebox and multi-tape player all hooked up in my home theater and this thing controls them all with ease. It basically replaced 7 remotes and performs macros without me ever having to set them up manually.

This is the best remote I have ever used. This is replacing a Sony RM-AV2100 and it was a good remote but even with hours figuring out macros my wife still had a hard time using the entertainment system. Components would frequently get out of sync leaving her frustrated. The 688s smart state always remembering what equipment is on and what state the inputs are in and make it truly one touch easy. If it does get out of sync the help button fix the problem in 1 or 2 steps. Set up on the web sure beats punching in the commands for the macros one at a time. Adding commands that Logitech didn’t have for TiVo and my VCR was simple with the online wizard. A great reasonably priced remote that can tame my home theater system so that anybody can use it. I'm happy my wife is happy Life is good.

I have used this remoter for almost a year now and I love it more every day. It controls my entire entertainment system with no hassle and no problem almost every thing i do is ONE TOUCH!!! if you are looking for the best out there this is it.
