This os works great. Setup instructions are not very clear. Microsoft only lets you use your copy of this os once. I installed it on the pc I just built then I installed the Motherboard drivers. I also installed it on virtual pc just to see what happens if you don't activate it after 30 days, guess what it won't let you login. Microsoft is so tight fisted, squeezing every penny out of a deal by making you buy 2 product keys if you want to use it on 2 computers.

To install MS XP Pro SP 2 w/Media Center Edition 2005 here is how it works. Place disk 1 into cd on pc and start installation (it begins like a normal install). when asked for another disk put in disk 2 and it will install MCE 2005. When prompted for disk 2 again put in disk 1 and let it finish the install. You will have a perfect OS with XP Pro SP2 and MCE 2005 so enjoy and updat to SP3 for it.

What a pain to install! Very unclear installation instructions and no customer support with this product. ''XP SP2 disk'' is actually MCE disk #1.

I like Media Center Edition of XP, I have it on my laptop and ordered a copy with the remote for my new desktop. When I tried to install it, it asked for the XP Service Pack 2 CD during the initial installation, which did not come with the package. I didn't have any option but to cancel that part of the installation. Windows installed normally, but when I tried to install my motherboard drivers and everything else, I kept getting an error. I fixed the problem by downloading a copy of SP2 and burning it to a CD, which I used during the installation. This was a huge hassle, and I recommend that you just get XP Pro or something instead.
* The above
values are for physical, not usable memory.
The amount of
memory that your system reports, is not always the amount of actual installed
memory. For example, if you have 4GB installed, 32 bit versions of Windows will
typically report 3.2GB due to a limitation of Windows itself. Also note
that different Windows programs report available and maximum memory differently,
which can be confusing. If you find that you need more memory, we suggest
expanding your system memory, since this is the most effective performance
increase, and the one that is easiest to perform.
