I have owned one of these for several years now and always tell my friends to look at Harmony remotes if they want a good universal remote that is easy to use and powerful. The only problems I have ever had is my daughter tore off the top of the FFW button (but there is still enough to use it) and the backlight doesn't work on mine after the first 2 years or so, but that may be because of the NiMH batteries I use. I get about 1 month of use out of a set of 1200mAh NiMH batteries. These are very old batteries by the way, and I would expect to get similar performance from newer higher capacity batteries if the backlight worked. |

This remote is great!! It does everything that others have written about. It will not copy the functions for a DishTV remote controller as that is done by radio frequency and not IR. Other than that it is the best I have found!! |

This remote is fantastic. Getting the software on my computer and registering took a little longer than I expected; but it sure was well worth it. Once you are up and running, configuring your remote is a breeze. And this product totally delivers on its promise. It has customizable buttons so you will be able to program to most obcure commands. The website had all of my components already so I simply had to download them. I love this remote! I can't recommend it strongly enough. |

We are very happy with this remote! It is SO NICE to have one remote for everything, instead of a pile of them. It even works to control our MacBook! Very programmable. It required a little tweaking, but it isn't very difficult to get it working with your devices. I only have two things about it that I'd mention as cons: 1) especially when brand-new, the buttons tend to stick and get caught in their housing. For this reason I slightly regret not getting a newer model with flatter buttons, such as the 688.
2) It has had a little trouble learning to eject a DVD from the player; eject would have been a nice button to have along with the play, ffwd, etc buttons. |

This is the remote for typical layout that most people have... all components in line of view from the remote. It is very easy to operate once the remote is programmed correctly.
The problem with that most people have is that when you hook up all your components via the best method... DVI, HDMI, Component Video, or S-Video to your TV... To get the BEST picture quality you can get...you find it that you have to remember which video inputs to select... which remote to use... and all in all... you will have to touch two or three remotes and numerous buttons to get it where you wanted.
This remote is the answer to all that... it will do all that for you in one button! It is very intuitive. You definitely need to hide all the original remotes so you don't use them. You keep all original remotes for expert programming of the components... you know... like adjusting video colors, etc.
Once you hide all remotes, there is nothing that can go wrong... if it ever does, use ''help'' butto |

Pretty cool concept as this is probably the last remote you'll ever need. However, the location of the play, rewind, and fast forward buttons are not convient. They're all the way at the bottom. Those that have DRV or PVRs know that you'll use these all the time. It wasn't as easy as I was expecting to install, but most shouldn't have a problem. |

WONDERFUL remote control. Trust me I know it cost more then the average remote but trust me when I say that it should control any remote that uses IR. GREAT BUY going to buy one for my sister. |

What can I say? This remote is easy to set up and works absolutely great. The only regret I have is not getting one sooner! TigerDirect.com was easy, fast, and hassle-free. |

The Harmony replaced all my other remotes. The online setup is easy enough. It manages all my components. The other remotes are in a drawer.
I had a problem with the initial configuration (intermittent setting of TV video mode). Tech support was able to fix the problem on the site. All I had to do was download the updates to the Harmony. Tech support was helpful and competent, really. Since then, I have updated the configuration myself. It is easy enough and very flexible.
Unlike my other remotes, the Harmony is very forgiving about where it is pointed under use. No more trying to lock in on the target component before hitting a button.
My wife does not care a bit about all the techie stuff or industrial design. If it works and is easy to use, she is happy. She is very happy with the Harmony. |
