Features
- Preserve your Analog Video Tapes
The image quality of analog tape will not last forever. Over time it will gradually degrade and the colors will start to fade, blend together, blur, etc. Converting your analog tapes to digital format gives you video that will last a lot longer than tape, can be easily duplicated with no quality loss, and delivered in a number of different ways.
- Create a DVD Movie
Once you have a library of digital videos, either from capturing analog video or transferring digital video from a DV camcorder, you can incorporate the clips into a movie. PowerDirector lets you edit, produce and burn movies to DVD, VCD and SVCD for viewing in your DVD player. If you do not want to make an elaborate movie production with PowerDirector, you can use PowerProducer Express to make quick DVDs of your video clips with simple menus.
- Create Photo Slide Shows
PowerDirector and PowerProducer Express let you create slide shows of your digital photos for viewing on CD or DVD. You can also take snapshots from your video clips using PowerDirector and incorporate them into your slide shows along with your other pictures.
- Create Videos for the Web or E-Mail
Movies created in PowerDirector can be saved in Windows Media® and RealMedia® formats for streaming video on the web. Use this feature to create compact videos for web sites, or for sending videos via e-mail.
- Transfer video from your PC to Digital Camcorder Tape
PowerProducer Express lets you transfer video clips and movies to the DV tape in your digital camcorder via the 1394 connection. This is a quick way to archive the video and save hard disk space for editing.
- Burn a DVD directly from Digital Camcorder Tape
To make a quick copy or backup of movies on DV tape, use PowerProducer Express to transfer the DV video directly to DVD in one step, without having to transfer the DV file to the hard drive. It's a great way to make copies for your family and friends without having to take the time to product a movie or slideshow.
- Capture a Long Video and Split it into Smaller Clips
PowerDirector's batch capture and scene detect features let you split long videos into smaller that are more manageable and easier to incorporate into movie timelines
- Create Animated Videos
The photo slideshow concept can be used to create animation movies. Connecting your DV or analog camera to AD FullCap allows you to use the snapshot feature to take photos that are saved directly to the hard drive. This makes a great animation interface for creating sequential shots that can be place in the PowerDirector timeline to create an animated movie.
- Enhance Movies with Music and Sound Effects
The sound clip library included on the Video Advantage CD can be used to enhance your videos with sound effects. With AudioSurgeon, you can also record and edit sounds that can be dropped into your video using PowerDirector's timeline interface.

Hardware works fine, PowerDirector software is old version 3.0, current 6.0. Software is very unstable and prone to locking up.

This product has a very poor support. For over three weeks I’ve been practically bagging for support help with the installation for their Video Advantage PCI, as response a have received a total silence. I do believe the intention for this product is good, but the results are disappointing. In my opinion, Vendor or Manufactures offering this class of support (totally contracting what they advertise) are well hiding under this window so called WEB, commercializing with people faith, but avoiding to face the problems they cost. BE CAREFULL! Before purchasing products from Vendor or Manufactures like this one; would be rewording to investigate the class of support they offered.

Great Product ! Very good,(Excellent),Capture and Edit Capability with included Cyberlink Software!! However, The Video Advantage Software is well left uninstalled.--With that said, This is the BEST PCI Media Capture out there!!! -LarryB

The evaluation is not fair to the board. But it is fair to the board with the software supplied. The board could be good but the software leaves a lot to desire. I purchased it mainly for Composite capture. I used the supplied product PowerDirector3. although I set the capture settings for the standard NTSC 29.97 FPS the software always reverts back to the non-standard 30 FPS. I contacted support, and they told me that the 30 FPS was the default and couldn't be changed. Either they think I am dumb or they really are poor programmers. You certainly don't offer a drop down box with selections if that feature can't be change. The problem is the software can't hold the setting no matter how many times you enter and save it. I certainly wouldn't consider upgrading to another product by this company.

Works well, software is worthless, horrible licensing. My unit was missing the idiotic 12 pin ribbon which you can't buy anywhere. I hacked down an IDE cable to 12 pins and it worked OK. The front panel connector is a nice, but the Audio and USB connectors on it require attachment to existing devices (they aren't a part of the PCI card). This seems really half-rate in that you have to jumper the audio card on the back of your machine to the PCI card, which screws up connection detection on this new PC, so I left those disconnected. Worse is the USB port on the front, that wants you to connect a regular USB cable to it from the inside (I.E. have a USB cable going from the outside of your case to the inside, maybe the mobo cable was also missing). I put the AMD label over this port. Overall, not bad, but the poor packaging of this product and threatening SW license is very customer unfriendly, I would never purchase a Turtle Beach product again.
