I got this projector for an excellent deal (day after thanksgiving) and I am very satisfied with the picture quality. But, at the same time I would not recommend this projector to any home theatre enthusiast. It's 3:4 chip is definately a big minus when it comes to viewing 16:9 DVD's. This one is more for the office than home. For Home DVD viewing ensure that you go in for a 16:9, DLP projector.

i have never tried one of these before and i know nothing about them. I was well informed by customer service and very happy with the purchase I was going to buy one more expensive with more lumans and the sales person talked me out of it and i'm glad. You don't need any more than 1500 if you are going to have a home theatre set up. I am very pleased with it and for the price plus the screen you cant beat it. The picture is sharp and very clear. It's all hooked up with s-video( recommended) and it is great. I will not buy a plasma 10,000 dollar tv don't need to with this. On the screen-- go with the m100 in black it hides better and it doesn't shine and looks better with the black edging like a theatre

this projector is better than i could have ever dreamed. i have a 115 in screen and the picture is bright and clear as any other t.v. no problems with the hook up and very easy to adjust to the settings i want.

Yes, I just want to say what a great purchase I made with the NEC VT47. This is my first experience with a projector as for owning one. I'm very pleased with the picture quality, color, the look of the machine, easy user friendly remote, and you can't beat the price. I think I made the right choice. The only thing I didn't know about is the limited zoom. My living room is like 15' wide and I wanted to place the projector on a shelf across the room. Well I purchased a 84'' screen with the projector because I don't have a wall to display the image, but only to find out that the projector would have to mount in the ceiling right where my ceiling fan hangs or will need to be placed on a small table in the middle of the room. (not good) So I exchanged the 84'' for a 106'' so that I could at least get past the ceiling fan and mount it in the ceiling. This is my only disappointment.
