I 've purchased two of these players. I love mine, however, The one I gave to my sister last christmas (04), Blew up. well, I don't think it really exploded. She was using RayOVAC Alkaline rechageable batteries, That leaked into the unit, Frying it. Expensive mistake. I use an NI-MH battery {like the one that comes with it) I have no problemes with mine! I like it. |

Decent product for the money, but is far from perfect. For some reason it seen in sync mode on WMP 10 but will not automatically convert to mp3. Must use some other converter to get wma to mp3. Looking at Ultras website this was their first mp3 player and all the bugs and things were fixed in the 1gb model, but there is no plan for a firmware update for this model per tech support. Mine has some wierd problems with the display shutting off; sounds normal per their website as well. Not forget to take out non-rechargeable batteries before you plug in as it can damage it. I did it on accident and it tweaked, but worked fine after taking out the battery. Paid 49.99 with a 512MB card. |

Player is small in size and is packed with features. The best feature is the fact that I CAN use a 1GB SD card in the player and keep songs on it, 198 max: kind of a drawback, but with a 1GB SD card in it I have plenty of space left to use the thumb drive function without having to swap SD cards around. I don't why others are saying they can only use a 512MB SD card in theirs? Mine works fine with every size card I put in it and choose to keep the 1GB SD card in it. One way to get around the 198 song problem is to have either entire albums setup as a single mp3 or several songs by the same artist as an mp3. The drawback to that though, is that the songs in within the big mp3 cannot be advanced to for example and you must listen to them in the order in which you saved them as the big mp3. My screen is cracked as well as many others as I've heard of so treat it kinda gingerly to avoid this. The sound can be improved by buying a good set of head phones. The FM has ok performance. |

A fantastic MP3 player! Well worth the 50 or so dollars paid for it! There are a few drawbacks but nothing that I consider serious. Pros: Intuitive key placement/function; Expandable storage; Rubberized body for good grippyness; plenty of functions for your dollar; No goofy software needed for transferring files. Cons: Only plays 198 songs from the internal storage and card together. However this may (HOPEFULLY) change with a firmware update; Included headphones have changed since the ones pictured. High/mid notes are crystal clear, better than my desktop speakers. Lower notes are ''fuzzy'', Not a big deal and totaly fixable if it bothers you; No ''fast forward'' for individual songs; Don't expect the radio to pick up your favorite station. It will pick up several, but you have to stay still in a certain position; Driver(for win 98)/software disk is a ''mini'' CD. Won't work in slot type drives; Manual is written in chinglish, but it's pretty much not need. |

I bought this player for the SD function. There arent alot of players out there with that, it makes for never ending music supply. My regrets after purchase were the file organizing. I have tons of songs on my PC and all of them are organized into folders based on band and album but to add to the player it had to be the mp3 only... all the organization i loved on my PC wasted as the files randomly went into the player. plus the HUGE screen is a bit overkill the full screen is never used besides the daning guys on the screen when it is playing. the screen is easily scratch and then i cracked it (cuz it was so HUGE)luckly i had taped the screen priror to (so it didnt scratch). the screen at times fades in and out i would have tried the warranty but it got stolen from my car so i gotta get another one. for me it wont be the same player but i wouldnt say it is a bad buy for everyone |
