The KOB 630e CFSFx mainboard is a Flex-ATX mainboard that uses 4-layer printed circuit board and measures 228mm by 190mm. The mainboard has a PPGA (Plastic Pin Grid Array) PGA370 processor socket.
The KOB 630e CFSFx is installed with the very powerful SIS630 chipset, which includes integrated built-in video, audio, and communications capabilities. Two 32-bit PCI expansion slots are provided. Two DIMM sockets are available for the installation of up to 1GB SDRAM memory. This mainboard is an ideal platform for an inexpensive entry level or business class multimedia personal computer.
As a platform for a value PC, the KOB 630e CFSFx includes a socket 370 with 1GigaPro processor. Based on an advanced new CoolStream architecture, this new generation processor is available at speeds comparable to 1GHz and is packed with new digital media performance features, including support for four new pipeline stages, SSE multimedia instructions, StepAhead Advanced Branch Prediction, an efficiency- enhanced 64KB Full-Speed Exclusive L2 cache with 16-way associativity, and a full-speed FPU.
With a typical maximum design power of just over 10 watts, the 1GigaPro runs extremely cool and delivers very low levels of energy consumption. This not only makes it the ideal solution for powering a wide variety of low profile, small form factor PCs, but also enables very low noise system design implementations that are necessary for the emerging new generation of living room digital media entertainment devices.
The processor is supported by the powerful SiS630 chipset. The SiS630 includes an integrated 3D PCI audio controller. The chipset controls up to 1 GB of SDRAM memory and supports ACPI Ver. 1.0 and APM power management. It provides two PCI IDE channels with UDMA 33/66, a floppy diskette drive interface, and two bus mastering PCI slots. The chipset meets the requirements for the PC99 specification.
The board has two DIMM sockets for the installation of 168-pin, 3.3V non-buffered DIMM memory modules. The DIMM memory modules must be installed with SDRAM memory chips.
