Summary:
I got my first Kensington trackball as a gift 9 years ago. I have changed computers a few times, but the trackball outlasted them with ease. I just recently had to replace it, and was happy to see the exact same trackball was still available! This is an EXCELLENT value! You could buy a cheap mouse every year or so for ten or fifteen dollars, but they can't beat this trackball! No more dirty mouse pad or rolling the mouse off the pad. Just buy it! You'll see what I mean !!!

Summary:
This is pretty uncomfortable when putting your hand on; the ball easily falls out and has no locking mechanism. if you have software needing the wheel, you are gonna miss it so much, as this doesn't have any wheels.
Generally speaking it is half price of other products, but not as 30% efficient as the others.

I love this trackball. Purchased one for work and liked it so much I bought one for my son when he went to university. Easy to get used to and so much better than moving the mouse all over the desk. Takes up very little room, so I like using it at work so I don't have to move my other stuff out of the way.

I have been using trackball for several years as I found regular mouse tended to bring on carpel tunnel pain in my arm. I went on the Internet to research trackballs & came across this one. I couldn't find one in the stores & had to buy on-line. I just love this trackball & find it the best so far. It easier for a smaller hand to use & works well - even with my new computer that has Vista! No problems - highly recommended!

I use mac OS Leopard and as soon as I connected the mouse, it worked seamlessly. I didn't require setup. The computer recognized it and automatically set it up. The mouse scrolls easily and accurately. I like it better than previous roller balls and would buy it again. The only limitation is it's plastic case causing the unit to move slightly while scrolling.

If only it had scrolling feature, otherwise it's the perfect mouse. It's easy on the wrist. There's no hand fatigue. What more could be asked for from a mouse? Perfect for the Office. Perfect for many games. Perfect for most any task. It only needs a scrolling feature, and then nothing could top it. I've had mine for two years, and it works with everything I have and every task could ever use it on.

I bought one of these trackballs 10 months ago for my work. I have used this trackball with Windows 2000, XP and Vista SP1 and it works from the gitgo in any of those OS's. Outside of the right click button's paint being rubbed away over time (this trackball has been used 8-10 hours a day at least 5 days a week nonstop at work), it still functions as flawlessly as the day I took it out of the box for the first time. Liked it so much I'm buying another one for the new vista laptop I just got - and YES this trackball works with Vista SP1 without having to install a thing besides Vista adding in the UID device driver when you first plug it in. Highly recommended!!

All I have is one word for this Kensinton Orbital Optical Trackball Mice, It's ''HOT'' I try one at home and I went to Tiger Direct to buy another one for work, at the end of a long day at work and being on the computer for 8 hours and I don't have the pains in my wrist that I use to have with a regular scroll mouse, one of my dogs chewed up the wire at home one and I went back to Tiger Direct for another one like it, to find out they did not have anymore in stock, since I needed one in a hurry, I bought a Logictach Marbel 4-Button Trackball paid more money and it's the worst I ever used, I see they now have the Kinsington I bought again and I'm ordering another to replace the piece of garbage Logictech I have at home.
Thank you Tiger Direct for carrying these again!

Summary:
I've been using this at work for the past 6 months or so and I can't imagine life without it. With my IBM optical scroll-wheel mouse I got tension right across my shoulders that not even a weekend could alleviate. But with this trackball my elbow is always relaxed, and so is the rest of my upper body.
The Kensington software is also excellent, as it allows you to create dozens of keyboard+click shortcut combinations for all kinds of operations. For example, I use ctrl+the trackball buttons to control the volume on my headphones as well as moving my browser forwards and backwards.
One tip I can offer first-time trackball users (I was one myself not so long ago): the key to getting the most out of this device is planting your whole hand on top of it and relaxing your arm. Just drop your hand on it like an octopus attacking a crab and feel the back of the device in the palm of your hand. This way all it takes is the slightest finger-twiddling to manipulate your cursor.

I only use trackballs, and after using over a dozen different types, this is the one. I highly suggest this model here. The lack of a scroll wheel is no problem if you get a keyboard with one built on (Compaq CPQ135KB, $9.99).

I've used trackballs for years, both home and work. Bought this one to replace a Microsoft trackball that after years of use had just gotten unreliable unless cleaned every couple of days. Plugged it in and it worked. This is one of the best trackballs I've ever used - quick and precise. It fits my hand perfectly and both moving the cursor and clicking the buttoms feels natural and effortless. Having to download the Kensington drivers from their website was a bit of a pain but not really too bad. I can not imagine why anyone would want to use a mouse when a trackball like this can be had for such a good price.
